Ludington, Michigan, March 23, 2016 - SRS Industries, LLC, d/b/a Whitehall Industries ("Whitehall," or the "Company"), is pleased to announce its pending sale to UACJ Corporation. Whitehall Industries was founded in 1974 as a manufacturer of precision components for the copier industry. In 2001, Whitehall established a precision aluminum extrusion operation, and today Whitehall has grown to become a vertically integrated extruder and fabricator of complex aluminum components and assemblies for the automotive industry. Whitehall specializes in difficult-to-manufacture aluminum components and assemblies requiring exceptionally tight tolerances, including automotive sunroof tracks and structural components.
Yogen Rahangdale, owner and CEO of Whitehall stated, "Over the last six years, Whitehall's growth has far exceeded overall industry growth due to its tremendous engineering and manufacturing talent. Whitehall's technical capabilities enabled the Company to pursue a number of growth opportunities, particularly related to applications in automotive aluminum structures and panoramic sunroofs. In selecting UACJ, we are partnering with well-capitalized, multi-national corporation that shares our values and has the resources to further accelerate Whitehall's growth. "Rahangdale continued, "I want to thank Whitehall's highly skilled and talented employees, who I believe to be the most dedicated for making the company successful."
David Cooper, President of Whitehall, along with his existing management team, will remain with the Company and will be involved in executing Whitehall's long-term strategy. "We are very excited about this acquisition and what it means for our employees and our customers," Cooper said. "Both Whitehall and UACJ are outstanding companies with solid corporate values and strong product portfolios. We see tremendous growth opportunities for Whitehall as aluminum components continue to gain share within the vehicle as automotive OEMs seek to reduce vehicle weight and emissions. UACJ's diverse manufacturing capabilities and global reach will enhance our ability to provide aluminum structural components, while strengthening our footprint and ability to serve our customers on a global basis."
Whitehall expects the transaction to close after receipt of necessary approvals and following satisfaction of certain terms of the purchase agreement.
